Information on the process from Glasgow City Council:

The Equality Outcomes development process includes various stages of formal consultation and review including:

– Survey of stakeholders to identify key equality priorities, including elected members and equality organisations in the city

– Focus groups with members of the public who identify as having a protected characteristic

– An evidence review to update our baseline of key facts and figures that we know about groups that meet one or more of the protected characteristics

Collaborative workshop for employees from across the Council Family to consider findings from the evidence review and stakeholder survey and produce an initial set of priorities for consideration in outcome development

The highlights and priorities that have emerged from the research and our next steps are set out in the report: Equality Outcomes 2017-2021: Development Progress & Emerging Priorities

The Council Family is now considering the full detailed list of suggestions to develop the final set of outcomes, actions and measures for 2017 to 2021.  We aim to have a draft set of outcomes with supporting actions and measures by February 2017. At that time the Council’s Elected Members will formally consider and agree the proposed final outcomes, along with a report that demonstrates our progress towards our old outcomes and how we are mainstreaming equality in service delivery.
